Lewis George Wyse (1867-1955) was a Retford entrepreneur, cycling champion and avid antiques collector.
This exhibition gives an opportunity to see his eclectic collection of precious porcelain, delicate glassware, artworks and various oddities.
We are fortunate enough to have a personal account of Mr Wyse from his great great-niece, Cynthia Garlick. Her memoirs give a wonderful insight into the life of a man who was so important to Retford and also the museum. They are available to read in the exhibition space and on our website.
