Saturday 14th March – Saturday 9th May
Artist Patricia Lane, known for her colourful and textured mixed media landscape paintings, is proud to be presenting her second solo exhibition at Bassetlaw Museum.
Originally from Nottinghamshire, Patricia paints in her studio/gallery adjacent to her home near Elmton, Derbyshire. Her warm evocative landscapes are lit by a stunning use of colour. Inspired mainly by the landscape of the UK, Andalucia, and some of the wonderful places she has encountered on her travels. The paintings she creates are not necessarily exact representations of any single place at any one time, but more about the essence of the landscapes she encounters. Important to her are the memories evoked by a particular location; light, atmosphere, colours, textures, and weather conditions.
Working mainly in acrylic paints and inks, Patricia loves to add all kinds of different materials to bring texture and drama to her work. She enjoys being experimental with techniques to create an element of abstraction to her painting style.
