The Friends of Bassetlaw Museum and History Wardrobe present ‘Halfway to Hollywood’. Join dress historians Lucy Adlington and Meridith Towne for an exciting presentation showcasing original garments and accessories.

Films gift us iconic gowns and trend-setting styles. Whether it’s the nostalgia of ‘Gone With the Wind’ or the sassy fashions of Katharine Hepburn, women have long been inspired to recreate the glamour of film stars, hoping to feel halfway to Hollywood themselves through movie-imagined clothes.

Like picture-goers of the thirties and forties Lucy and Meridith of History Wardrobe invite you to escape into the world of cinema’s golden age as they explore sensational styles, as well as stories from behind the camera, before revealing their own show-stopping transformation…
